Best 43-inch TVs for 2023

Individuals who have lived in a dormitory or a 100-square-foot residence in New York City are familiar with the challenges of decorating when dealing with limited space. In the event that accommodating a 55-inch television is unattainable, one need not accept a sub-standard television. The process of purchasing a television can be cumbersome, but the extensive selection of 43-inch TVs can be overwhelming. There is an abundance of exceptional options for 43-inch TVs, and they are certainly a more favorable alternative to 32- or 40-inch models as one can obtain a larger screen for a marginal increase in price.

Opting for a 43-inch display can help you save up to $100 as compared to a 55-inch television. Nonetheless, it’s worth considering spending a bit more if you have the space. Even so, the 43-inch screen is sizable enough to offer you a good viewing experience. Additionally, it’s noteworthy that several 43-inch TVs are equipped with impressive built-in smart TV suites, eliminating the need to buy a separate streaming device to enjoy your preferred streaming services. You can also control these 43-inch models with a voice command.

In addition to being smaller, 43-inch TVs often lack the newest picture-enhancing technologies like full-array local dimming, 120Hz refresh rate, and advanced gaming features. This makes it harder to find a 43-inch TV with a premium and outstanding picture quality compared to larger 55-inch models. However, OLED TVs larger than 42 inches are an exception to this rule (see below).

Below is a list of the top recommended 43-inch TVs to consider, with a few key points to take into account:

Manufacturers do not prioritize 4K TV image quality at this size, therefore smart TV functionality takes precedence for me. If you’re looking for a TV to watch your favorite cable or streaming TV shows or to use as a gaming screen to connect with a console, the best 43-inch TV models are definitely a good fit. If you need a different size, you can check out 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch TVs. If you don’t see what you’re looking for below, you can find all of the TVs I have reviewed thus far, with more to come.

In our evaluation of budget TVs, the TCL 4-Series Roku TV presented inferior picture quality compared to the Vizio V-Series. However, the disparities between the two are barely noticeable that one has to juxtapose them to observe any distinctions. Unlike the Vizio, the 4-Series does not support Dolby Vision, Bluetooth connectivity, and AMD FreeSync with a variable refresh rate.

The 4-Series surpasses the Vizio by having the exceptional Roku Smart TV system integrated within. This renders it a superb option for individuals seeking a comprehensive smart TV solution, abstaining from inserting an external streaming apparatus.

Best 43-inch TVs for 2023

The Vizio V435M-K is the best budget 43-inch TV for its picture quality, according to a comparison of budget TVs. The Vizio V-series stood out as having the most accurate and balanced picture, and has added features such as Dolby Vision support, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth compatibility, and variable refresh rate for smoother gaming. However, the smart TV platform, Vizio SmartCast, is crowded, slow, and filled with advertisements. Despite this, when factoring in the cost of adding a new streaming device, the V-Series remains the best overall entry-level TV among those tested.

Hisense 43A6H

Best affordable 43-inch TV with sleek design

Sizes available in 55-, 65-, and 75-inch
TV Technology: LED with local dimming
Smart TV: Yes, with Android TV
Resolution: 4K
HDMI Ports: 4

The Hisense A6H Google TV presents top-notch features at an affordable, entry-level price, just like the Vizio V-Series. Notable highlights of this TV include an excellent build quality, Dolby Vision support, Bluetooth connectivity, and DTS Virtual:X for simulated surround sound. Despite running on Google TV, which ranks second in our list of preferred smart platforms after Roku, the Hisense A6H tends to operate at a slower pace compared to high-end TVs like the Sony X80K.

While the A6H lacks the image quality of TCL and Vizio, its design sets it apart from the crowd. The TV boasts ultra-thin bezels and a display directly attached to the panel’s back, creating rounded metallic corners. This premium finish is unparalleled in other TV units within the same price range.

In the end, the Hisense A6H Google TV is a viable option for those on a tight budget who value its aesthetics and desire the Google TV platform.

Best 43-inch TVs for 2023

Samsung QN43Q60B is the best 43-inch TV with advanced features. It is available in sizes ranging from 43 to 85 inches. The TV comes with QLED technology and runs on Tizen, making it a smart TV. Its 4K resolution and 3 HDMI ports further enhance its performance.

The Samsung Q60B, while pricier than the aforementioned models, outweighs them in almost every aspect. It boasts a more slender and sophisticated design, additional features such as a solar-powered remote, and marginally better picture quality with exceptional brightness. Although the aforementioned televisions offer better affordability, the Q60B is an excellent alternative for those seeking a more upscale option in this size category who do not desire to invest excessively in an OLED TV.

Best 43-inch TVs for 2023

The LG C2 is the top pick for the best high-end 42-inch TV, even though it is technically a little smaller than the others on the list. If you’re not worried about the price, this TV has superior image quality and features compared to any of the others. It is more expensive than the rest and we suggest getting a bigger size like a 48-inch or 55-inch if possible, unless your budget is limited and a 42-inch size is your only option.

Amazon Fire TV 4-Series

Best affordable 43-inch TV with excellent brightness

Sizes: 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch
TV Technology: LED
Smart TV: Yes (Fire TV)
Resolution: 4K
HDMI Ports: 4

The Fire TV 4 Series is among the simpler televisions featured in this list. It lacks Dolby Vision and any added benefits for gamers such as AMD FreeSync. Rather, the Fire TV delivers a brighter display, a remote empowered by Alexa voice control, as well as the ability to access Amazon’s content.

Out of all our entry-level models, the Fire TV 4-Series provides the brightest screen and the best picture quality for gaming; however, we found its smart TV system to be the least impressive. Nonetheless, it could be an ideal choice for individuals with brightly-lit rooms or those who are heavily reliant on the Amazon ecosystem.

You will receive updates on the price of Amazon Fire TV 4-Series, which costs $260 at Amazon and Best Buy.
Here are some things you should know when purchasing a 43-inch TV:
– Prices for the aforementioned TVs, as well as others, are expected to drop as the year progresses. Waiting may lead to a better deal.
– If you are unhappy with the built-in smart TV system, consider purchasing a media streamer as an alternative. They are affordable and user-friendly. Check out our top media streamer recommendations.
– Most built-in speakers have poor sound quality, investing in a soundbar or speaker system is worth considering. A good one can be purchased starting at around $100. See our top picks for soundbars.
